The Drowsy Chaperone

We performed this show on 19th - 22nd October 2016 at the Z-Arts Theatre.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a pastiche of traditional music theatre.  The "show-within-a-show" begins when a musical theatre obsessive imagines performers coming to life in his shabby apartment whilst he plays his favourite cast album, a fictitious1928 hit show called "The Drowsy Chaperone."

Throughout the performance the musical bursts to life around him as he continuously brings the audience in and out of the fantasy.

This spoof of classic zany musicals, "the funniest show you've never seen", won five Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical. South Manchester AOS had a ball performing it.
